Format and Colours

I create my calligraphy for the album in A4 format. To place a calligraphy on the wall, the large format 50x70cm fits better, where the calligraphy can be shown off to its best advantage. Of course, some calligraphy is in portrait format, others in landscape format.

I also use Chinese scrolls to do calligraphy. They are convenient for transport and look elegant. Unfortunately, they are a bit smaller and have higher material costs.

The left hand is often neglected (unless you are left-handed, but then the right hand is neglected), and that is why it is given the red or gold color.

I also paint the brushstrokes that depict the left hand with my left hand to counteract the one-sidedness.

I paint the colored brushstrokes with red (corresponding to the traditional vermilion) or gold. Which color you choose depends on the environment of the calligraphy or the demands of the Fēng Shuǐ.
